Maxim, one of Malaysia’s leading e-hailing companies, has officially rolled out a comprehensive partner-driver legalization program designed to ensure that every driver on its platform is fully licensed, compliant, and legally authorized to operate. The initiative reflects Maxim’s long-term commitment to improving road safety, enhancing regulatory alignment, and delivering higher-quality service to passengers.
As part of the program, Maxim has significantly overhauled its partner-driver registration and verification processes to create a more secure, transparent, and supportive onboarding experience. According to Mohd Hazwan, Director of Maxim E-hailing Malaysia, the effort goes beyond meeting basic legal requirements. “This program is not just about fulfilling regulations but it’s about building a stronger, more responsible e-hailing community. We want every partner-driver on our platform to feel confident, informed, and fully compliant,” he said.
The legalization program introduces a streamlined registration process, supported by a dedicated compliance team that carefully oversees every document submission. Drivers are required to provide valid licensing and vehicle documentation, all of which undergo rigorous manual verification by trained professionals. This thorough approach ensures that only eligible and qualified drivers gain access to the platform, further reinforcing passenger trust and safety.

In addition to compliance, Maxim has placed strong emphasis on education and driver support. New digital tools, such as step-by-step registration guides, instructional videos, and real-time alerts for missing or expired documents, have been introduced to help partner-drivers navigate the licensing process more effectively. Recognizing the challenges faced by new drivers, Maxim has also partnered with more than 25 driving schools across Malaysia to help drivers obtain essential PSV and EVP licenses. To further ease the financial burden, partner-drivers are eligible to receive reimbursements in the form of bonus credits that offset license expenses.
For many drivers, the program has already shown positive results. Ahmad Azmee, a Maxim partner-driver from Sungai Petani, shared his experience, noting that the new registration process was much clearer and faster than before. “They guide you step by step, especially with the PSV and EVP licenses. The real-time alerts helped me fix my issue quickly, and the bonus that compensated the license fees was a nice surprise. It really feels like they care about helping partner-drivers stay legal and safe on the road,” he said.
To raise awareness, Maxim has launched an extensive outreach campaign that includes app notifications, SMS updates, direct phone support, and in-person events aimed at educating drivers on the importance of compliance and professionalism. This campaign is part of Maxim’s broader vision to build a safe, transparent, and sustainable e-hailing ecosystem in Malaysia.
Maxim first entered the Malaysian market in 2019, completing its inaugural order in Kuantan before expanding nationwide. Today, the service operates across all states, supported by innovative technologies that allow the platform to process millions of orders and accommodate unlimited user registrations. With its apps, Maxim for service orders and Taxsee Driver for fulfilling requests ranking among the top platforms across multiple app stores including Google Play, App Store, Huawei AppGallery, and others, the company continues to cement its position as a trusted leader in e-hailing. Through this legalization program, Maxim reinforces its mission to improve user interaction, support its drivers, and help Malaysians move towards their goals with greater safety, reliability, and confidence.
