Tenable® (NASDAQ: TENB), a global leader in exposure management, has announced the appointment of Matthew Brown as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Brown steps into the role following the transition of former CFO Steve Vintz, who was recently named Co-Chief Executive Officer alongside Mark Thurmond.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, Brown is a seasoned finance leader with a strong track record in driving growth and operational excellence at publicly listed companies. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Altair Engineering, where he was instrumental in accelerating the company’s strategic expansion, delivering consistent double-digit software revenue growth, and improving margins. His leadership was also pivotal in guiding Altair through its \$10.7 billion acquisition by Siemens. Prior to that, Brown held senior financial leadership positions at well-known technology companies including NortonLifeLock, Symantec, Blue Coat, Brocade, NETGEAR, and KPMG, with expertise spanning strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and operational efficiency.
“Matt brings a proven track record of scaling global technology businesses, delivering operational efficiency, and driving shareholder value,” said Steve Vintz, Co-CEO of Tenable. “His strategic mindset, deep financial expertise, and collaborative leadership style make him the ideal partner to help Tenable accelerate growth and achieve our long-term vision.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Brown said: “Tenable is in a prime position to lead the future of exposure management, and I couldn’t be more excited to join this remarkable team. The opportunity to pair Tenable’s market leadership with bold financial strategy is incredibly energising, and I’m ready to help propel the company to its next chapter of growth.”
Brown earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California.
With Brown’s appointment, Tenable strengthens its leadership bench as it continues to advance its mission of reducing cybersecurity risk for enterprises worldwide. The company currently protects approximately 44,000 customers across the globe with its AI-powered exposure management platform, helping organisations close security gaps across IT, cloud, and critical infrastructure environments.
