BLACKMORES and IJN Collaborate to Champion Early Detection and Preventive Heart Health. With a legacy spanning over 90 years, BLACKMORES continues to inspire Malaysians to take charge of their health through a wide range of premium, science-backed supplements. Trusted by millions around the world, the brand has once again been recognised for its commitment to natural healthcare — earning the Platinum Award at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards for the 11th consecutive year. This accolade reinforces BLACKMORES’ dedication to promoting holistic wellness that supports everything from heart health to everyday vitality.

“At BLACKMORES, our approach to preventive health is holistic, focusing on education and daily nutrition to empower Malaysians to take charge of their own wellness,” said Chloe Meng, Head of Marketing, BLACKMORES Malaysia and Singapore.

In line with this mission, BLACKMORES recently joined forces with the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) to raise awareness on heart health through The IJN Heart Games 2025, held at The Curve, Damansara. The community-focused event brought together healthcare professionals and the public for a day of engaging activities, education, and health screenings. Participants received free checks for BMI, blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol levels, while many also took advantage of advanced heart assessments such as electrocardiograms (ECG) and echocardiograms (ECHO). These screenings provided valuable insights into cardiovascular health, highlighting the importance of early detection and preventive care.

Heart disease remains one of Malaysia’s most urgent health challenges. In 2023, ischaemic heart disease was responsible for 29,741 deaths, nearly double the number recorded just four years prior. A 2025 nationwide study also revealed that more than 21% of adults — about 3.6 million Malaysians — face a high 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). The impact extends beyond individual health, as non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including heart disease, cost the nation an estimated RM64.2 billion annually in healthcare expenses and lost productivity.

“IJN remains committed to raising awareness on cardiovascular health and emphasising the importance of early detection. Collaborations such as this provide opportunities to connect directly with the public in meaningful, engaging ways,” said Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, Chief Executive Officer of Institut Jantung Negara.

The success of The IJN Heart Games 2025 underscores BLACKMORES’ steadfast commitment to promoting preventive healthcare through both science-backed wellness solutions and community engagement initiatives. Its continuous recognition as a Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand reflects the brand’s unwavering dedication to helping Malaysians build a proactive, health-conscious mindset.
