Fans of Malaysian girl group Dolla were left in shock when the band announced that member Syasya has left the group. The 23-year-old Syasya, whose full name is Noor Syasya Afiqah Shahrizal, has just made the decision to part ways with the M-pop group DOLLA for personal reasons.

DOLLA, a 2019 Universal Music Malaysia creation, debuted on March 20, 2020, in the music industry with their first single, “DOLLA Make You Wanna.” Six songs have been published by the group thus far, including the hits “Impikan,” “BAD,” and their most recent album, “New Classic,” which was released in November 2023.

DOLLA has been the recipient of several awards and accolades during the span of their career so far, including the ‘Most Popular Group/Duo’ (Top Meletop Kumpulan/Duo) at Anugerah Meletop Era 2021, ‘Most Popular Group/Collaboration’ (Kolaborasi/Artis Berkumpulan Popular) at the 35th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian, (ABPBH35) and Lagu Trending Tergempak and Video Muzik Tergempak at the Gempak Most Wanted Awards 2023. “Although we receive this news with a heavy heart, we respect Syasya’s decision, and continue to wish her the best in her journey,” says Kim Lim, the Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia.

“Moving forward, Angel, Sabronzo, and Tabby will continue DOLLA’s career, maintaining our focus on both the domestic and international fans – We have made several plans to grow DOLLA’s career in the Southeast Asian market, and we will still continue to work towards accomplishing our goal.” “We are of course, saddened by this situation, but as a group, we support Syasya in her decision, and remain here for her,” says Tabby.

“The bond we have built over the years of our career is strong, and we continue to see Syasya as our family,” adds Angel, summarising the friendship between the members of DOLLA. “The three of us are committed to continue DOLLA’s path and achievements, and will continue working hard. We hope that we can continue to make everyone proud,” says Sabronzo, on DOLLA’s future plans.

In March 2024, DOLLA was chosen to represent Malaysia in the Chinese reality show ‘Show It All’, produced by Lay Zhang, a member of the superstar K-pop group EXO. The show features several girl groups from around the world as guests, and is currently airing on MangoTV, one of China’s main television broadcasters. Universal Music Malaysia hopes for the continuing support of DOLLA’s fans and members of the media, and thanks everyone for the support shown so far over the course of their career.
