McDonald’s Malaysia Lights Up Bukit Bintang with Golden Glow for International French Fry Day. In a dazzling celebration of International French Fry Day, McDonald’s Malaysia lit up Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Bukit Bintang with a golden spectacle on the night of 10 July 2025. The vibrant display transformed the bustling district into a tribute to the brand’s beloved French Fries through a large-scale Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) takeover. Beginning at 8:30 PM, all major digital screens in the area glowed in golden hues, capturing the attention of passersby and drawing a lively crowd eager to witness the fries-themed celebration.
The event reached its peak at 8:45 PM, when the synchronized visuals across the DOOH screens converged on the main display above the McDonald’s Bukit Bintang outlet. This dramatic moment marked the grand unveiling of the new McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal — a limited-time McValue Meal created especially for fry lovers in honour of the occasion. The Fan Fries Meal puts the spotlight on McDonald’s iconic French Fries, letting fans enjoy them as the star of the show. For the first time ever, customers can indulge in the XXL McDonald’s French Fries, accompanied by a refreshing drink and a side, available nationwide for just RM10 from 11 to 13 July 2025, while stocks last.

According to Chin Mei Lee, Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald’s Malaysia, the inspiration behind the Fan Fries Meal came from Malaysians’ enduring love for McDonald’s French Fries. “We know how much Malaysians love our fries – it’s never enough! That’s exactly what inspired the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal,” she shared. “Whether it’s with friends or family, the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal is our way of saying thank you and celebrating those joyful moments with everyone.”
This year’s event continues McDonald’s Malaysia’s tradition of imaginative celebrations for International French Fry Day. In 2022, the brand made headlines with the launch of the McDonald’s Fries Crosswalk at the Bukit Bintang intersection in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). In 2023, they made history by projecting the tallest McDonald’s French Fry in Malaysia onto the Kuala Lumpur Tower during the “McDonald’s Icon Meets Icon” campaign — a record-breaking tribute that merged two cultural icons in a memorable visual experience.

“At McDonald’s Malaysia, we’re not just in the business of serving meals – we’re in the business of creating delicious feel-good moments,” Mei Lee added. “Whether it’s a bold visual spectacle or a simple shared meal, we’re always finding fresh, creative ways to connect with our customers and bring joy to their everyday lives.”
With the launch of the Fan Fries Meal and an unforgettable display in the heart of the city, McDonald’s Malaysia once again proves its flair for blending creativity, culture, and community into one golden celebration.
