The highly anticipated firefighter-themed blockbuster Legasi-Bomba The Movie has officially lit up cinemas nationwide, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Malaysia’s firefighters. Produced by Multimedia, GSC, Astro, and Sixfun, the film has already drawn royal recognition from none other than Sultan Pahang, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
The movie holds a unique backstory. Sultan Abdullah himself first conceived the idea for Legasi-Bomba The Movie after watching Air Force The Movie in 2022, which was also produced by Multimedia. Inspired by the impactful storytelling, His Majesty shared the vision with Multimedia’s Managing Director, Datuk Steven Lim, sparking a project that took more than two years to complete.
Sultan Abdullah made a special visit to the cinema for a private screening of the final production. Following the film, His Majesty expressed his utmost satisfaction, praising the authenticity and emotional depth of the movie.
“This film truly captures the responsibilities and challenges faced by firefighters, who are always at the frontline not only during fires, disasters, and road accidents, but even in tasks like snake-catching and animal rescues,” Sultan Abdullah remarked.
Before departing, His Majesty also extended his recognition and appreciation to Datuk Steven Lim, the cast, and the production team, offering his blessings to the movie.
Datuk Steven Lim later revealed that the film’s most time-intensive stage was post-production and visual effects, as the team strived to deliver world-class quality. “Filmed since 2023 across Sabah, Klang Valley, Penang, and Terengganu, the cast underwent intensive firefighter training to ensure realistic performances. With detailed sets, daring stunts, and powerful visual effects, the movie pays the highest tribute to our nation’s firefighters,” he said.
The production received full support from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), along with sponsorship from HONOR, Cuckoo, and Kinohimitsu.
