Alamanda Shopping Centre hosted a happy ‘buka puasa’ event for orphans and poor children from ‘Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah’ in Bandar Baru Bangi.
Over 40 children, aged eight to 17, gathered at the mall’s Centre Court as Alamanda Shopping Centre General Manager Pang Sook Fong extended a warm welcome to everyone.
One of the most exciting moments of the event was when the children were invited on a shopping spree to pick out brand new clothing and shoes for Hari Raya. The children were thrilled to choose their outfits and shoes themselves, their faces beamed with happy smiles throughout the experience.
After the shopping spree, the children were treated to a captivating traditional ‘dikir barat’ performance. As part of the line-up, they also received ‘duit raya’ and gifts sponsored by the mall tenants, making the experience even more heart-warming and memorable. The event culminated with a sumptuous ‘buka puasa’ spread at a restaurant.
Andrew Brien, Executive Director of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd said, “As a community-focused organization, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us all these years. We are honoured to have the opportunity to organise this breaking fast event for the children and their carers.
“We hope that our small contribution will bring smiles to the faces of these children and inspire others to do the same. Finally, I would also like to thank our retail partners who have generously contributed to make this event a success.”
Also present at the event, the carer of ‘Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah’ said, “On behalf of the centre, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Alamanda Shopping Centre for organising this event for us. It is touching to see the community come together to ensure that the less fortunate are not forgotten during this special time of the year.”
