    Aisha Retno and the gifted musician Aziz Harun, who was born in Brunei, reunited this year after the success of their last duet, “Jarak,” to create a unique musical treat called “Ketipak Ketipung Raya,” which will be released in time for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival.

    The creation and composition of the song were spearheaded by Aziz Harun and Aisha Retno, with additional production assistance from Romeo and Glowrush. This collaborative effort unfolded as an unexpected and spontaneous project, adding to its unique charm and appeal.

    The inception of “Ketipak Ketipung Raya” was spontaneous, as Aziz Harun revealed. It stemmed from a desire to create a song for the festive season, with the aim of sharing it on social media, particularly TikTok. With Aisha Retno’s collaboration on ‘Jarak’ already underway, Aziz approached her for assistance in crafting this new song, which she readily accepted. Together, we pooled our creative energies, crafting the song to the best of our abilities before introducing it to our followers on social media.

    Aziz Harun explained that they were taken aback by the overwhelmingly positive response the song received from their followers on social media, particularly on the TikTok. Encouraged by this unexpected reception, they made the decision to record and refine the song properly, with the goal of launching it before the celebration of Aidilfitri.

    When asked about the significance of the song, both artists described its message as refreshingly simple: it revolves around the preparations for celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

    Aisha Retno elaborated that the song encapsulates common themes found in many other celebratory hymns. It vividly depicts the bustling preparations on the morning of Raya, with references to mundane yet essential tasks such as purchasing Raya clothes and ensuring the readiness of Raya delicacies. Furthermore, the song captures the essence of joyous celebration, transcending differences in status and generation. To infuse the song with a traditional touch, Aisha incorporated the lively and rhythmic beat of Joget, adding to its liveliness and intrigue.

    Despite the spontaneity of its creation, the recording process went smoothly, with minimal obstacles. Both artists were pleased with the efficiency of their collaboration and the final product. They completed the recording in just a few hours, adding finishing touches to parts that had been shared on social media previously.

    “The recording process was incredibly swift. My management facilitated a meeting with Aisha and our producer, Glowrush, and within just a few hours, we had it all wrapped up. Each of us required only three hours for the vocal recording session in the studio.”

    “I distinctly recall that it took place on a Sunday, and the song was nearly complete. We only needed to finalize the ‘bridge’ section and the second verse since the initial part of the song had already been shared on social media the year prior,” Aziz reminisced.

    The duo expressed their delight in collaborating once more, highlighting the seamless compatibility they’ve shared since their previous duet, ‘Jarak’. This time around, the only difference lies in the theme of the song, now centered around Hari Raya celebrations.

    “Aziz is incredibly talented, and our mutual passion for music has fostered a strong bond between us. Given his impressive track record and unwavering dedication, I have complete confidence in collaborating with him once more. I’ve longed for an anthem of my own, and now, with this duet, I believe it has the potential to become a cherished addition to our collection of duets,” Aisha expressed with joy.

    The accompanying music video, shot in a single take, adds another layer to the song’s narrative.

    “The MV recording flowed seamlessly, captured in one take, and features the staff of Faithful Music, Aziz Harun’s recording company. The atmosphere was relaxed, fostering a smooth and enjoyable experience. This marked our first time shooting a music video in one take, with minimal retakes needed. I’m eager to witness the audience’s reaction to the genuine connection portrayed in this video,” Aisha added.

    “We sincerely hope that those who have been eagerly anticipating this song since last year will find satisfaction in the effort we’ve poured into it. Our aspiration is for it to stand as a timeless anthem, fondly remembered for years to come. Crafting this song was a joyous endeavour for us, and we’re hopeful that listeners will derive as much pleasure from experiencing it as we did from creating it,” Aziz expressed.

    “In our inaugural Raya song, we’ve incorporated vibrant Joget beats as a homage to its roots. Purposefully infusing it with energy, we’ve breathed new life into the song, making it poised for widespread appeal, particularly on social media platforms like TikTok. I earnestly hope that you all will embrace and enjoy our musical offering,” Aisha concluded.

    Scheduled for release on March 22, 2024, at 12 AM Malaysia time, ‘Ketipak Ketipung Raya’ will be available for download on iTunes and enjoyed across various music platforms, including Apple Music, Deezer, KKBox, Spotify, YouTube, and YouTube Music.
