Asia’s Leading Tech Manufacturing Platform Launches in Penang with Grand Opening of EMAX, PMAX, SMAX & ASFAX 2025. Asia’s most comprehensive technology manufacturing platform officially opened its doors today at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, uniting four high-impact expos under one roof. The 5th Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX 2025), 4th Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX), and the inaugural Semiconductor Asia Expo (SMAX) and Asia Sustainable Factories Expo (ASFAX) come together to showcase the future of smart, sustainable manufacturing.
Officiated by YB Goh Choon Aik, ADUN N18 – Bukit Tambun, the opening ceremony celebrated the event’s pivotal role in advancing Penang’s position as a global electronics and semiconductor manufacturing powerhouse. In his keynote address, YB Goh emphasized Penang’s substantial contribution—22% of Malaysia’s total approved manufacturing investments in Q1 2025—and lauded the event’s alignment with the national green and digital industrial roadmap.
Jointly organised by Fireworks Trade Media Group and NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd, the event features more than 200 exhibitors from over 40 countries and is expected to attract thousands of trade visitors, engineers, and decision-makers. Spanning three full days (23–25 July), the expo lineup includes technical seminars, live technology demonstrations, a wire harness competition, ESG and smart factory showcases, business matching sessions, and high-level industry forums.
This year marks a milestone with the launch of SMAX 2025, highlighting the full semiconductor supply chain, and ASFAX 2025, which presents cutting-edge energy-efficient factory and ESG solutions. “SMAX and ASFAX represent the next frontier in sustainable electronics and semiconductor manufacturing,” said Mr. Kenny Yong, CEO of NRG Exhibitions and Fireworks Trade Media Group. “We are proud to position Penang at the heart of Asia’s industrial evolution.”
