Honda Malaysia Unveils New HR-V with Enhanced Design, Features, and Safety Across All Variants. Honda Malaysia has officially launched the New HR-V, a refreshed version of the country’s No.1 Non-National B-SUV, reinforcing its dominance in the segment. Since its debut in 2015, the HR-V has been a favourite among Malaysians for its bold design, smart features, and enjoyable driving dynamics. With over 170,000 units sold and a commanding 41% market share in the Non-National B-SUV segment (as of January to May 2025), the HR-V continues to be a benchmark for compact SUVs in Malaysia.

The launch event was graced by Mr. Narushi Yazaki, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, who highlighted the significance of this model in the company’s journey. He described the New HR-V as a “bold evolution” that blends sportiness with practicality and innovation. He also noted that this launch marks 21 years of Honda’s hybrid leadership in Malaysia, a testament to the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility and customer-driven innovation.

Visually, the New HR-V sports a refreshed front grille integrated with full LED headlights featuring Active Cornering Light (RS variant only), as well as a sleek rear LED taillight strip that adds a more assertive road presence. All variants are now equipped with stylish 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, further enhancing the SUV’s sporty appeal. The top-tier e:HEV RS variant stands out with its exclusive RS Package that delivers a performance-inspired aesthetic.

Inside, the New HR-V offers a more refined and user-centric cabin. The RS variant is fitted with RS-embossed sporty seats and a redesigned centre console that includes a wireless charger. A new floating 8-inch Display Audio Unit provides better visibility and intuitive operation. Modern convenience is also prioritised with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ available across all variants, complemented by front and rear USB-C ports and Honda’s signature Air Diffusion System. Despite its compact classification, the HR-V offers a spacious interior that rivals larger segment vehicles, delivering superior comfort for all occupants.

Under the hood, the New HR-V offers three powertrain options tailored to various driving preferences. The 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine offers 121PS and 145Nm of torque, balancing efficiency and everyday practicality. For more spirited performance, the 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine produces 181PS and 240Nm, delivering smooth and responsive acceleration. The e:HEV variant is powered by an advanced hybrid system that produces 131PS and a segment-leading 253Nm of torque, ensuring a seamless and efficient drive through its EV, Hybrid, and Engine driving modes.

Drivers can personalise their driving experience with three selectable modes — ECON, Normal, and Sport — allowing the HR-V to adapt seamlessly to different road conditions and driving styles. Staying true to Honda’s “fun-to-drive” philosophy, the New HR-V delivers performance without compromising fuel efficiency.

Safety and connectivity are also elevated in the latest HR-V. Honda SENSING, the brand’s advanced suite of safety technologies, is now standard across all variants and includes new features like Adaptive Driving Beam in the RS variant. Honda CONNECT has also been expanded to include the S and E variants, enabling more drivers to enjoy connected services and features.

The New HR-V is priced at RM 143,900 for the e:HEV RS, RM 137,900 for the V variant, RM 130,900 for the E, and RM 115,900 for the S variant — all prices are on-the-road without insurance. Two new exterior colour options — Phoenix Orange Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl — join the existing range of Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Stellar Diamond Pearl. A surcharge of RM800 applies to select colour options.

Now available for viewing and test drives at all authorized Honda dealerships nationwide, the New HR-V is set to raise the bar once again in Malaysia’s competitive SUV market. For more information, customers can contact Honda’s Toll-Free line at 1-800-88-2020 or visit www.honda.com.my.
